Troubled Child Angry Adult

They argue they fight, beat, even kill the people they love. Domestic violence is a sad reality for some. This plague does not discriminate. I read somewhere the other day that there is an increase in incidents of violence among families due to current economic conditions. Chris Henry the victim of his own rage apparently leaped from a moving pickup truck to his death during an argument with his girlfriend last week. And of course we all know about Tiger and Elin Woods' ordeal with the car, tree and the golf club.

What will it take for us to just treat people the way we'd like to be treated? How much turmoil do we want? It does a person good to reflect back his own upbringing an revisit the way our parents and other adults interacted with us. It has been suggested that our relationships are mirrors of ourselves. We view the world not as it is, but as we are. Is that scary or what? What sort of emotional scaring are we passing on to our children as a result of our own unresolved issues? What happens inside the brain when a loved one turns violent...what images of the past are playing out along with the distorted views of the day?

People are really stressed out. My brother just shared a story with me about a young man that was prayed for in a Durham church this past Sunday. This was no ordinary laying on of the hands, this man was reportedly exorcised. Throwing up gallons of puke to boot. This is not the first such incident at this church. So you see the people that are loosing it in most cases are displaying warning signs. But we dismiss or downplay the potential for whatever reason. Chris Henry's girlfriend knew the potential danger of her recent ordeal. Hindsight being 20/20...this young lady was way ahead of us.
