Religion Loosing its Grip

It is quite possible that the explanation for divorce the "new norm "just might ly in the idea of civilization. Lets suppose for a moment that we forget about all we have been taught. Lets say..there are no schools, no church, no mosque, no synagogue, no therapist, no police or courts to order our steps towards civilization. Where would we be on the idea of marriage? Wait wait..now slow your role... I'm just the messenger.

During the time of my grandfather and his father's time there weren't strict regulations on a man of 40..marrying..lets say...? a 14 year old girl. We quite simply had not advanced to the present ideas of what being civilized is all about. And then there was the time of human chattel...the selling of human beings. This even happened in America with the African slave trade. The point being...in some cases there are vices in place to compel or prompt us in the direction of acceptable behaviors. How long can we hold the human animal at bay. The very idea of religion has to be the one thing that makes marriage remotely possible for the human animal.

So the question becomes; is religion as we once knew it loosing it's grip on society? Many youngsters seems to lack that respect for the sacredness of church and things of righteousness. You hear people all the time saying that we need to turn back to God, that we need the love of Jesus in our hearts. The ways of Christ is the shining example. But just look around. Sadly so It looks quite possible that religion is loosing its grip on the civilized world. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
